Hello my name is Oume, I’ve done the lawyers in Palestine program with go Palestine. I’ve been here for two weeks in Hebron and my experience has been really great, learning a lot about the culture, the language and learning how the legal system is so different from the west especially the ones of the UK which I’m so familiar with.
The hospitality has been amazing and overall something I would definitely take away for the rest of my life. We did loads of different things we met with different Palestinian lawyers and what they do in their field. We visited the Palestinian courts and see how they operated. We also had the chance to talk to different NGOs and Human Rights program which went very well with the lawyers of Palestine because they not only got to see the people who helped with the law but it’s we also saw how the law has been implemented which is a really good experience.
The safety in Palestine and throughout my trip here has been very good. I have not felt unsafe at any point, it’s very welcoming and it’s a very beautiful city and beautiful country. I haven’t had any bad experiences and I don’t think many people will because it’s it is genuinely quite safe especially being a young Muslim woman. It’s nothing to worry about this kind of situation. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Palestine and see the true beauty.
