Supporting Palestinian Families and Students Through Our Programs
Go Palestine does not receive any funding, either nationally or internationally. This means we rely entirely on the fees generated from our international programs. These fees allow us to create opportunities for the local community by offering mini-jobs to Arabic teachers, providing income for host families, and organizing free courses for Palestinians.
Our goal is to create a meaningful balance by supporting Palestinians in accessing education and employment opportunities while providing internationals with a unique and immersive experience of life in Palestine. Through our programs, we aim to foster cross-cultural understanding, empower local communities, and offer a platform for internationals to contribute positively to Palestinian society.
Volunteer Programs in Palestine
At Go Palestine, we offer a variety of volunteer programs that focus primarily on teaching conversational English to Palestinians. These programs cater to Palestinian students of all ages, including children, school and university students, as well as community members and residents of refugee camps in the West Bank. You don’t need prior experience in teaching English, as the emphasis is on casual conversations to help Palestinians improve their speaking skills. It’s more about engaging in meaningful dialogues rather than traditional classroom teaching.
As a volunteer, you’ll also have the chance to learn Arabic and immerse yourself in Palestinian culture. You’ll stay with a host family, providing you with a unique perspective on daily life in Palestine and a deeper understanding of the culture. This experience offers valuable learning opportunities, both for you and the people you’ll interact with.
Internship Programs in Palestine
In addition to our volunteer programs, Go Palestine also offers a range of internship programs focused on various important topics such as human rights law, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, media and Palestine, environmental issues, healthcare, refugees, and trade and economy. These internships provide participants with opportunities to meet activists, visit organizations working on related topics, and engage with experts in each field. Participants will also have the chance to go on field visits to relevant sites that are integral to the program’s focus.
During your time in Palestine, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn Arabic and teach conversational English to Palestinians, adding a valuable cultural exchange to your experience. You’ll stay with a host family, which will offer you deeper insights into Palestinian culture and daily life. The internships at Go Palestine are comprehensive experiences that combine education, cultural immersion, and hands-on engagement with key issues in the region, including organized trips to refugee camps to better understand the challenges faced by Palestinians living there.
Intensive & Super Intensive Arabic Courses in Palestine
Go Palestine also offers intensive and super-intensive courses in Arabic, available in both the Palestinian dialect and Modern Standard Arabic. These courses are designed for all proficiency levels and are taught by highly qualified teachers with over 10 years of experience in teaching Arabic as a second language to foreigners. The courses are conducted on a one-on-one basis, ensuring personalized attention and ample opportunities for you to ask questions and engage directly with your instructor.
The flexible scheduling allows you to learn Arabic in a shorter period, while staying with a host family gives you the perfect environment to practice and quickly improve your language skills. For those who prefer to study remotely, we also offer online Arabic classes, which include a free first session. This is an excellent opportunity for those who can’t travel to Palestine but still wish to learn Arabic from experienced teachers.
Help Palestinian Refugees in The West bank
By connecting with Palestinian refugees, you can gain a profound understanding of their struggles and contribute to their efforts in creating a better future. The volunteer activities primarily focus on youth and children, as well as women living in refugee camps. Despite the challenging conditions, participants in this program will discover that education remains a powerful tool for these communities to fight for their rights.
You have the option to volunteer for a period ranging from one week to three months, based on your availability and commitment. During your time there, you’ll have the opportunity to learn Arabic, engage with local Palestinians, and immerse yourself in their culture and traditions.
